John J. Haas

John J Haas (53) of Harper Woods, MI passed away suddenly due to health complications on June 10, 2019 after a recent diagnosis of cancer (T-Cell Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma). He was a 1984 graduate of Harper Woods Notre Dame High School. An almost 30 year employee of Chrysler Corporation, Daimler-Chrysler, FCA, etc, John used his Motech training to great advantage and really enjoyed anything that went fast, especially cars and speed boats. At Chrysler (et. al.), John was very involved as a co-instructor in their Dale Carnegie training programs and was recognized many times for his achievements. Actively following Dale Earnhardt, John was an avid fan and collector. The Woodward ‘Dream Cruise,’ and many special racing and stock car events were sources of great enjoyment for John. For many years, he enthusiastically coached women’s softball in Harper Woods. Preceding him in death were Carl Haas (brother) and Joseph Haas (father). Grieving his passing are his mother Marian "Betty" Haas, siblings Sonja (Martin) Myers, Marie Ivey (Jerry) and Eric (Melissa) Haas, nieces, nephews, godchildren, cousins and everyone’s families. Among his dearest friends are best friend Mike & Wilma Carr, Dave & Debbie Kien, Steve & Judy Meyer, Elise & Mark Cilluffo, Dan & Susie Groth and Patti Rapson. John enjoyed more than 30 cruises and loved to travel often with friends Mike and Wilma Carr and their family. John took excellent care of his mother (now in memory care), was always a helping hand, and loved to assist his friends in their special projects. The family also wishes to thank his friends and extended family for their life-long kindnesses and support of our brother John. The family will receive visitors at Wasik Funeral Home (11470 East 13 Mile Road, Warren, MI 48093) Sunday, June 16 from 4-8pm and Monday, June 17 from 4-8pm with a Celebration of Life Monday at 7pm.
