Delores Hein

Delores (Hilla) Hein, born on April 21, 1927, went home to meet her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on March 23, 2025. Born to John and Dorothy Hilla in Posen, Michigan, she married the love of her life, Airhart (Bab) Hein on August 12, 1950. Shortly thereafter, they moved to Detroit to begin their married life together. They shared five children; Marlo (Eileen), Greg (Barbara), Dawn (DeWayne), Brian (Mary) and Bradley (Janis). They had 15 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren with more on the way. Delores was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother who loved to cook and bake for her family. You never left her home hungry, She had several signature dishes, but was known far and wide for her homemade German Chocolate Cake, and assorted pies. When celebrating the holidays, she always had everyone's favorite desserts, all made fresh that morning. Delores was a competitive soul, she played a mean game of pinochle, unless she was playing with her grandchildren. She taught them all how to play, and usually let them win. If shopping was a competitive sport, she would have been a Gold Medalist. She loved a bargain! She loved Hudson's, which eventually became Macy's. She showered everyone with presents, always beautifully wrapped and presented in a Macy's box. Her favorite time of year was November 15th through November 30th...Hunting Season! Airhart took her hunting in 1950 and she never missed a season until 2022. 72 years of family fun and adventure. During those two weeks she was always the first one up in the morning and the last one out of the woods at the end of the day. Hunting season won't be quite the same without her. Once her family was older, she became a Copper Craft Guld consultant, booking home shows, and her competitive spirit reappeared, She worked her way to position of National Sales Coordinator and traveled to Mexico, Amsterdam, Portugal and Rome with her proud and loving husband by her side. She was a faith filled woman with a deep devotion to the Blessed Mother, wearing her miraculous medal wherever she went. God blessed Delores with a long and healthy life, and a family that cherished above all else. Now she is home in the Kingdom, reunited with her parents, family and friends and the love of her life, Airhart. She fought the good fight. Well done my good and faithful one. Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 27, 2025 from 2:00-8:00 p.m. at the Wasik Funeral Home, Inc. 49150 Schoenherr Rd. (n. of 22 Mile Rd.), Shelby Twp. Instate 12:30 p.m. until a 1:00 p.m. funeral mass at St. Peter Catholic Church 95 Market Street, Mt. Clemens 48043. Entombment Resurrection Cemetery.
