Brian Michael Turo

Brian Michael Turo April 20, 1960 - March 8, 2025 Born on April 20, 1960 in Detroit, Michigan. Beloved son of John Joseph Turo and Betty Lou Turo. Proud father of Robert (Kayla) Turo and Marisa (Luke) Tomaszewski. Loving brother of John Turo Jr.(Donna Field), Mark Turo (Laura), Laura Turo and Karen Julien (Roy). Uncle to many nieces and nephews. A caring son, father, brother, uncle, Godfather and friend; Brian will be missed by many. Preceded in death by his parents, John and Betty Turo, and his loving sister, Karen Julien. In his youth, Brian was involved in many sports while attending Cousino High School in Warren, Michigan. He was a skilled swimmer, breaking the record in his high school. He played football and held a black belt in martial arts. He also loved to sing, following in the path of his older brothers and traveling to England to sing in front of Queen Elizabeth II. Early in life, he discovered a deep passion for firearms and the outdoors. His favorite thing to do was going hunting, shooting, and fishing with his son, Robert. As founder of Safety Enterprises LLC, Brian spent decades training tens of thousands individuals in Metro-Detroit to obtain their CPL. He established himself as a titan in the firearms industry and was instrumental in operating, expanding, and opening several successful organizations in the Metro Detroit area. Among these successes are Close Quarters Tactical (Shelby Twp.), Gander Mountain (Utica), Target Sports (Royal Oak), and Dunham's Sports. Brian was known as an expert on gun safety and loved to teach others how to protect themselves. He was consulted many times as an industry expert in both court cases and media coverage of firearms news. His legacy will live on through his two children, and the thousands of others that he trained to carry in a responsible manner. In his free time, Brian loved to be on the water, listen to classic music and spend time with family, especially his brother, John Turo Jr.. Brian will be missed by all who knew him. He will be most remembered as a compassionate, proud, and caring father who is watching over his children from Heaven. Do not let your hearts be troubled. You believe in God; believe also in me. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me so that you also may be where I am. Gathering at 9:30 am on Thursday, March 20th and Mass at 10 am at St. Peter’s Catholic Church - 95 Market Street, Mt. Clemens, MI.
