Nancy Lee Laramie

Nancy Lee (Kennedy) Laramie aged 72 of Peoria, Illinois passed away peacefully on Friday, September 24, 2021 at OSF Richard L. Owens Hospice Home. She was comforted by her loving husband, Rev. Dr. Martin Laramie and hospice staff, in her final hours. Nancy was born October 25, 1948 to Merideth and Edna (Mayle) Kennedy in Highland Park, MI. On May 14, 1983 she married Martin Laramie of Windsor, Ontario. A funeral service will take place at 11:00 am on Saturday, October 2, 2021 at Wasik Funeral Home in Warren, MI with Rev. Dan Plemmons of Rochester, MI officiating. Visitation will be prior to the service beginning at 9:00 am – 11 am. Nancy worked at Hardware Springs in Detroit, MI and Rawsonville Ford Motor Company in Ypsilanti, MI in her younger years, before marrying a minister. Nancy had a true servant heart, she was always there for her family when they needed her. She and Martin had a little Shitzu, fur-baby, named Slippers. Whom she loved dearly, and doted over. She also enjoyed having her nieces and nephews over to spend the night, and they talked about her famous pancakes. Her nephew, David said "no one could make them like aunt Nancy.” They loved her. She enjoyed cooking and baking, which came in handy as a minister’s wife. She stood beside her husband in ministry, throughout their married life. She loved attending revival services, worshiping and praising God. She also enjoyed singing with her sisters for special church events. Nancy was preceded in death by her infant daughter, Heather Lee Laramie; Father, Merideth Kennedy; niece, Rebecca Mayle Lilly; sister, Robyn Kennedy Discher. Nancy is survived by her mother, Edna Kennedy and five of her seven sisters, Jarvine (Hayward) Faulkiner of Washington Township, MI Pamela Stewart of Ypsilanti, MI, Marsha Montgomery of Cincinnati, OH, Debra (Don) Stoll of Chelsea, MI and Kim (David) Holt of Coldwater, MI, along with many nieces and nephews. Nancy will be laid to rest at White Chapel Memorial Park Cemetery at 1 pm. 621 W Long Lake Rd, Troy, MI following the funeral service. A luncheon will be at Golden Corral at 3:00 pm 37101 Warren Rd. Westland MI
