Virginia Constance Augustyn

Virginia Constance Augustyn, born on December 22, 1924, to Walter and Stanislawa (Stella) Osimowicz, entered eternal rest on January 17, 2026, at Bickford Senior Living in Shelby Township, Michigan, at 101 years of age. She was the devoted wife of the late Joseph Augustyn. Virginia was the cherished mother of Joseph (Paula), Patricia (Daniel) White, Robert, David (Reba), Rosemary (Gregory) Meier, Charlene (James) Strickland, the late John, Virginia (Thomas) Webster Smith, Jane (James) DeWalt, Elaine (Jeffrey) Ebaugh, Matthew, and James (Jennifer). She was the proud grandmother of 25 grandchildren and 35 great grandchildren. She is also remembered as the beloved sister of the late Harry Osimowicz, Sylvia Osimowicz, Leonard Osim, George Osim, Wanda Augustyn, and Helen Augustyn, and as sister in law to Norbert Augustyn. Before dedicating herself to raising her family, Virginia worked as a secretary. She later gave generously of her time and talents to Our Lady of Good Counsel, where she volunteered in numerous capacities, including preparing educational materials, supporting the Girl Scouts, and serving in the Rosary Society, as an Altar Lady, Festival Worker, and Voting Poll Worker. A woman of steadfast faith and enduring warmth, Virginia valued time spent with her family above all else. She especially treasured moments shared with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Her many interests reflected her vibrant and industrious spirit, including praying the rosary, reading, sewing, knitting, crocheting, canning, walking, traveling, bowling, golfing, bingo, crossword puzzles, and, most especially, card games. Her life was a testament to devotion, service, and love, and she will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Visitation for Virginia will be on Sunday, Jan. 25th 2026 from 1-7 pm with a 4 pm rosary at the Wasik Funeral Home, Inc. 49150 Schoenherr Rd. (N. of 22 Mile Rd.-Shelby Twp.) Instate Monday, Jan. 26th, 2026 from 9:30 am until 10 am Funeral Mass at St. Kieran Catholic 53600 Mound Rd. (Shelby Twp.)
