Sandra Jean McKay

Sandra (Hardoin) McKay was born October 28, 1952 and entered the gates of Heaven in the comfort of her home surrounded by her loved ones. She was born in Detroit, Michigan and remained in Southeast Michigan where she raised her greatest blessings: her daughter, Chelsea, and her son, Jamison. While they were not biologically hers, they were specifically chosen for her. Sandra was bestowed the great title of Gigi with the welcoming of her granddaughter, Aubrey. Her kindness, strength, and wisdom touched everyone she encountered. Her heart was a source of love that knew no bounds, and she leaves behind a legacy of kindness and generosity. She is survived by her daughter Chelsea, son Jamison, granddaughter Aubrey, and bonus daughter Michelle (Michael) Starr. Her sister Rose (Larry) Pranke, brother David (Annette) Hardoin, nephew Ryan (Nina) Pranke, niece Amanda (Bill) Kady, nephew Austin (Emily) Hardoin, and many great nieces and nephews. Sandra was predeceased by her parents Harold and Jeannette Hardoin. Sandy loves The Lord and made sure her family knew of this love as well. She loved worshipping at The Woods Church which she was a member of for 40 years. Sandra loved spending time by the water and enjoyed traveling to anywhere there was a beach, as the water brought her peace. She also enjoyed playing cards with her friends, watching musicals with her daughter, and spending time with her sister. Having gone through many life trials including this 3rd battle with cancer, she confidently knew she was ready to meet Jesus. Our time on earth is short, yet Heaven gives us something to look forward to. She is thankful for her loved ones who have guided her and spent time with her, and she would want to share that “Through it all, through it all, He walks with us through it all”. Sandy credits Jesus for always making her life worth living and we know she is dancing in heaven. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 9, 2025 from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Wasik Funeral Home (49150 Schoenherr Rd., Shelby Twp., MI 48315). Instate Thursday from 11:00 a.m. until an 11:30 a.m. funeral service at The Woods Church (14300 E Thirteen Mile Rd., Warren, MI 48088).
