Ronald Theodore Susalla

Ronald Theodore Susalla, age 87 of Algonac MI, passed away on 10/16/2022. Ron was a loving dad and will be greatly missed by his children, Veronica Susalla, Valerie (Mike) Seng and Theodore (Anne) Susalla; his grandchildren Matthew Kaminski, Andrea (Brian) Cantor, Michelle (Bob) Brust, Steven Susalla and Eric (Jessa) Susalla; great grand-children, Austin and Grady Cantor, James and Emma Susalla. Ron’s family relationship was very important to him, he always enjoyed visits and frequently expressed in his kind thoughts and generosity over many years. Ron was affectionately known as Dzia-Dzia, (polish expression for grandfather), he was very proud of his heritage. Ron spent many years with companion Kathy Klimek and was also very much a father figure to her daughter, Bonnie Maslanka (children Danny and Sammy) and daughter Debbie (Todd) Roberts (daughter Katie). Preceding Ron in his death were his parents Wanda and Theodore Susalla and his brothers Richard (Betty) Susalla, Roger Susalla and companion Kathy Klimek. Ron was passionate in music and an accomplished clarinet player, was part of a polka band during his teen years, playing music at weddings and other events. He enjoyed entertaining his neighbors during street events and played his music to age 87. Ron loved the Algonac area where he lived for 40 years and spent his time boating and fishing. Ron grew up in Dearborn MI, graduated from Fordson High School, got married and started his career at Ford Motor company, worked on the Rouge Assembly line and finished his 35 year career as an Auto Mechanic at the Dearborn Pilot Plant. A public Visitation will be held at Wasik Funeral Home, 35259 23 Mile Rd, New Baltimore, MI, 48047 on Monday October 24th from 2:00-7:00PM. A mass will be held at St. Catherine Catholic Church, 1103 Washington St, Algonac, MI. 48001 on Tuesday October 25th at 11:00 AM. There will be a brief viewing 10:30AM to pay last respects.
