Michael Andrew Nauszelski

Mike was born on May 6, 1955 in Detroit, Michigan and entered eternal life with his wife and daughters surrounding him on May 25, 2020 after several months of suffering from a sudden illness. He is predeceased by his birth mother, Josephine Stepinski, his adopted mother, Stella (Kowalewski) Nauszelski, father, Anthony Nauszelski, and his sister, Kathy (Nauszelski) Alvin. Also his father-in-law Perry Pelione, sister-in-law Kathy Pelione, his best buddy, Dean Holland, and other beloved family and friends. He is happily reunited with his faithful 4-legged companion, Maggie May. He was the loving husband of 45 happy years to Renee (Pelione) Nauszelski, and the beloved father of Colleen (Nauszelski) Skowronski (Dave) and Carissa (Nauszelski) Herhuth (Eric). Adoring grandfather to Thomas Michael (7), Benjamin David (5), Jane Patricia (2), and Sally Francis (2). Brother to Douglas Nauszelski. Son-in-law of Patricia (Consiglio) Pelione and family, and proud Godfather to Jeffrey Pelione. Mike's life will continue to be celebrated by many surviving aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends. Mike was born to Josephine, who wanted only the best in life for her son. She made the loving choice of adoption, blessing his adoptive mother and father, Stella and Tony, with their first child when he was 18 months old. Mike met his loving and faithful wife Renee at 16 years old through dear friends. They married on November 15, 1974, bought their first home, and were blessed with two wonderful daughters, Colleen Renee and Carissa Michelle. Mike graduated from Fraser High School in 1973, and began his career in construction as a truck driver where he met his life-long trucking buddies. In his retirement, Mike continued to share his musical gifts playing the accordion for family, friends, bands, and residents of senior living communities. Mike and Renee created a second home in Las Vegas, Nevada enjoying the sun by day and the sounds of music at night. Mike found the most happiness with Renee in the Las Vegas sunshine and in playful moments with their grandchildren. Mike worked incredibly hard for everything he had and everything he provided for his family. He enjoyed and appreciated the very simplest things in life. Even in his most difficult moments, Mike was the hospital's "most valuable patient" as he regularly graced them with his smile and a thumbs-up. In his final hours, a nurse asked Mike if he understood what was happening. Without hesitation he responded, "I'm going to heaven." With peace, he shared his final words with Renee, "I'll see you in heaven." Surely he is giving two thumbs-up from above as he reunites with loved ones and shines upon his family and friends awaiting the day they'll see him again. We look forward to celebrating his life with family and friends at a future time.
