Michael John McNally

Michael John McNally, 58, of Bozeman, MT, passed away, surrounded by family, on October 16, 2022, after a very short battle with pancreatic cancer. Michael was born August 26, 1964. He grew up in Detroit close to his elementary and junior high school, St. Bartholomew. He spent the 2nd half of his childhood and most of his adulthood in Warren, Michigan where he attended and graduated from St. Clement High School in Centerline, Michigan. He was proudly employed in the food service business in the Warren area. In 2009, he moved to Bozeman to be closer to his sister and other family. He worked at Perkins and Smith’s Grocery and was most recently employed as a merchandising associate in the pet department at T.J. Maxx. He was incredibly proud and happy with his work at T.J. Maxx. His coworkers will miss his friendly smile and dependability. Michael’s favorite time of the year was Summer because it meant hot sunny days and baseball, two of his favorite things. Growing up he attended as many Tiger games as he could, and later he would travel to Michigan to attend a game and eat at Coney Island or Buddy’s. After moving to Bozeman, he became a loyal fan of the American Legion Baseball teams and attended as many games as possible. He spent much of his free time attending games and even gathered his Bozeman family to join him. In recent years, with the advent of texting, he was grateful to be able to connect with his dear cousins and friends out of state. He was always ready to share a pun from his pun book, forever wanting to bring smile and laughter to those he loved. A huge fan of professional sports, Michael loved to share the scores of his favorite teams. Always up for a BBQ, Michael loved traditions and was a big fan of travel (especially back home to Michigan).If you ever needed to remember the date of a past event, big or small, Michael was your guy. Michael was the most honest and loyal soul you could ever hope to meet. His warm, contagious smile filled every room he entered, and his presence will be so deeply missed. Michael is survived by his sister, Lydia (Jeff) Trom; nieces, Scout and Terra; nephew, Felix, as well as numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Madeline McNally, and his dear cousins Estelle and Steve. Donations in Michael’s honor may be made to REACH, Inc., 322 Gallatin Park Drive, Bozeman, MT. Visitation Friday 2-8 p.m. at the Wasik Funeral Home, Inc., 11470 Thirteen Mile Road (West of Hoover) Warren. Friends and family will gather Saturday at the funeral home from 11 a.m. until a 12 noon Catholic Funeral Service. Interment Resurrection Cemetery.
