Mary A. Vertin

Mary Angeline Vertin passed away on July 31, 2022 in Chesterfield Township, Michigan. Mary was born in Detroit, MI, September 21, 1926, the third of six children. She married husband Thomas Don Vertin in 1948 and raised eight children in Harrison Township, MI. She and her husband formed Visioneering, Inc. in Fraser, Michigan in 1953. Mary assumed the office of President of Visioneering in 1979 after her husband passed away and operated the company before retiring in 1985. In 1981, Mary became the wife of Major General Rudolph Bartholomew and upon his retirement from Selfridge Air National Guard Base, they retired to Naples, Florida. Mary was happiest when surrounded by her family and thoroughly enjoyed being a Mother, Grandmother, and Great-grandmother. She frequently organized large gatherings or trips to keep her clan well connected and close. Mary is survived by three sisters, Dorothy O’Brien, Daytona, FL; Beatrice Lunetta (Sam), Naples, FL; and Carolynn Tupiak, Prudenville, MI. her children, Marie Cornillie (Sandy) Fair Haven, MI; Thomas Vertin Jr. (Kathy) St Clair, MI; Paula Abdilla (Joseph) Algonac, MI; Joyce Guilfoil (Paul) Ocala, FL; Steven Vertin Detroit, MI; and David Vertin (Christine) Naples, FL.; grandchildren, Edward Buchman (Carrie); Michelle Lang (Dr. Jason); Theresa Miller; Daniel Buchman; John Cornillie (Rasa); Jason (Sally) Cornillie; Thomas Vertin III (Kelle); Valerie Heath (Ben); Kate Budzinski (Keith Dean); Dr. Brienne Gindele; David Abdilla (Alicia); SFC (Army) Vertin Guilfoil (Amanda); Mary Guilfoil; Susannah Counts (Todd); Jack Guilfoil; Davis Delgado (Rene); Kennedy Vertin; and Porter Vertin; great-grandchildren, Kendall and Jake Buchman; Brooklin Cornillie; Emerson, Avery and Jackson Lang; Pam and Max Miller; Ella and Thomas Vertin IV; Finn and Hannah Heath; Hunter and Lainy Druchniak; Gabriel Budzinski; Garin and Teagin Gindele; Cole and Claire Abdilla; Barrett and Bailey Counts. She was pre-deceased in death by her husbands, Thomas Don Vertin; and Major General Rudolph Bartholomew; sister, Margaret; brothers; Clea, and Elmer; children, William Vertin; Susan Budzinski (Timothy); and grandson Brett Abdilla. Visitation is Sunday, August 7, 2022, from 2:00 pm - 7:00 pm. A Scripture Service to follow at 6:00 pm at Wasik Funeral Home Gendernalik Chapel, 35259 23 Mile Rd., New Baltimore, MI. Instate at 10:30 am followed by a mass at 11:00 am on Monday, August 8, 2022, at St. Anne Parish, 32000 Mound Road, Warren MI.
