Marchell Louise Hoste

Marchell Louise Hoste passed away at her home in Southfield on Saturday May 3, 2014. Marchell was born in Detroit, the youngest of four children, on September 5, 1958 to Norbert and Mary (nee Lesky) Hoste. She spent her youth in Center Line and graduated from Center Line High School. Marchell spent 20 years in Louisville Kentucky where she worked as an Executive Assistant. She was a super organized computer whiz. She loved dogs and was involved with breeding and training German Shepherds. She was a Derby fan and always bet on a filly. Following her years in Kentucky, Marchell returned to Michigan to be near her family. She most recently worked at Christian Memorial Cultural Center Cemetery as an Executive Assistant. Her boss said he had never had an assistant as organized and as efficient as she. She had a great sense of humor and enjoyed a good belly laugh. She was well read, up to date on current events, and enjoyed political debate. She was known as a 'food snob' and a wanna be gourmet cook. Famous for her melt-in-your mouth pecan puffs, after 20 years in Louisville, admitted her biscuits were more like hockey pucks. She loved music and dancing. Blessed with a beautiful voice as a child sang the "standards" while her father played the piano. She was a genius with word games and puzzles, enjoyed Mah Jong, Text Twist and Hearts. She was a girly girl, loved lots of 'bling', proud of being 5 feet 12 inches tall, and appreciated the elegance of high heels. She was fiercely loyal and would do anything for her friends and family. Marchell is survived by her mother Mary, her sister Kathleen (Dennis Janeczko) Hoste, her nieces Jenna Morton and Nicole (Scott) Breslin, her sister in law Mary Vassallo-Hoste and also by many loving aunts, uncles and cousins. She was predeceased by her father Norbert, her brother Larwrence, and her sister Barbara. She was much loved and will be greatly missed. Instate on Friday May 9, 2014 at 9:30 am at St. Hugo of the Hills Stone Chapel for a 10:00 am funeral mass. Interment will be private. Memorial contributions may be directed, in Marchell's memory, to the Capuchins.
