Juliana Texley

Juliana Texley, passed away on November 12, 2025 in Boca Raton Florida at the age of 77. She is survived by her sons; Greg and Eric, brother; Ray Trempler. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gary. Juliana was born in Mount Clemens on July 4, 1948. She grew up in New Baltimore with her parents, Gina and Raymond Trempler, and her younger brother Raymond Trempler Jr. She went to St. Mary's High School, attended college at Oakland University, and eventually attained her Ph.D. in Science Education from Wayne State. She met her husband, Gary, while in high school, and they spent over 55 years together in marriage. Throughout the first 30 years of their marriage, she and Gary (and their two sons) lived in Chesterfield MI and spent most of their summers at their property in Alpena. In their later years, they traveled frequently, including internationally to the Galapagos Islands, France, and China. They both retired from careers in education around 2000, when they moved to Florida, and thereafter split their time between Florida and Michigan. Juliana excelled in academics throughout her education, especially in science courses, and, after graduation, spent over 30 years as a science teacher and administrator in the Richmond and Anchor Bay School Districts. After retirement, she continued to focus on educational and science activities, including teaching several collegiate-level courses on science and educational curriculum, and she served a term as president of the National Science Teachers Association. She also wrote and edited multiple books on science and teaching, a number of which focused on children's education. Juliana and Gary remained connected to Anchor Bay Schools and the community after their retirement, by helping to establish the Anchor Bay Community Foundation with approximately two dozen other founding members. In her retirement, Juliana picked up new hobbies including playing a violin that she inherited, and joining local garden clubs -- an interest she picked up from her dad, Ray, who was an avid gardener. Later in her life, she was dedicated to helping Gary through a number of health concerns, up until he passed away in 2024. She was always a great mom to her sons and a great wife to her husband. Memorial visitation for Juliana will be on Thursday, Jan 15th, 2026 from 6-8 pm at the Wasik Funeral Home, Gendernalik Chapel 35259 23 Mile Rd. (New Baltimore) Interment of Juliana's ashes will be with Gary at the Oakwood Cemetery in New Baltimore at a later date. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Anchor Bay Community Foundation. It is expected that a scholarship fund in Juliana and Gary's names will soon be established at the Foundation to commemorate their memory.
