Diana Malinowski

Diana was born in Detroit, Michigan on July 15,1941 to Casmere and Frances Paradowski. She was the third oldest child and oldest daughter in a family of seven siblings. Diana graduated from Cass Technical High School in Detroit in 1959. In October 1966, Diana married David Malinowski and they celebrated over 50 years together. They had three wonderful sons: Allan, Michael and Jeffrey. They lived in Detroit most of their lives to support David’s career as a Detroit Police Officer. It was during this time that Diana formed strong friendships with the “Detroit Girls” from St. Raymond Church. Char Anderer, Renee Ball (Knight), Judy Jakubowski, Judy Linsky, Diane Lodato, Maureen McMahon, Judy Oleszkiewicz, Cheryl Penick, Mary Smith (Burnett), and Mary Sokol remained her closest friends until the end of her days often lunching, shopping and traveling together. Diana will be remembered as their “yes” girl because she regularly responded with “yes” before her friends had even completed their request. Also, during this time, Diana worked at Hudson’s, now Macy’s, for more than 20 years. This was an excellent job for Diana since she never missed a baby or wedding shower. You could always count on Diana to attend any shower, wedding or gathering of any type and to bring a gift that she had purchased at work long before she was aware of the event. While she was often very quiet at the events, Diana always had a smile on her face and often enjoyed a glass of wine (or two). Like her mother, Diana had a sweet tooth and loved her desserts. In her later days, she preferred to begin her meal with the dessert. She enjoyed anything made of chocolate, though her favorite was always a Sanders hot fudge sundae. Later in life, Diana adored being a grandmother to Addison, Ryan, and Quinn. Diana cherished the time she spent with them, including shopping in Michigan, getting manicures or exploring in Montana. Diana also loved being a grandmotherly figure to Jennifer and Jerry Dickey’s daughters: Olivia, Elizabeth and Charlotte. Diana lived a life prioritizing her family and friends, and her strong Catholic faith. She loved taking care of the people in her life. That was very evident by the excellent care she provided to her parents and David when they needed her. Though her love for her friends and family was abundant, Diana also had a life-long love for pets, especially dogs. During her adulthood she shared her home with Bullets, Pepper, Chewy, Rusty, Marino, and Ruby. Diana fell in love for the last time with a rescue dog named Savannah on her final trip to Montana. On January 31, 2025, Diana went home and is now at peace. While we are sad that she is no longer with us on this Earth, we find comfort knowing that she is reunited with David, her parents, and her siblings: Ronald Paradoski, Judy Bahorski, and Robert Paradoski. Diana is survived by her sons: Allan Malinowski (Kris Malinowski), Michael Malinowski (Nicole Tatro), and Jeffrey Malinowski; her grandchildren: Addison, Ryan and Quinn; her siblings Jerry Paradoski, Dennis Paradoski (Mary) and Sandy Paradoski, and numerous nieces and nephews. Family and friends are invited to gather for a memorial visitation for Diana on Friday, February 21st beginning at 10 a.m. and continuing until a memorial service at 1:30 p.m. at the Wasik Funeral Home, Inc., 49150 Schoenherr Road (north of 22 Mile Road) Shelby Township, Michigan.
