In loving Memory of Denise Desmarias June 20, 1955 – October 19, 2023 With heavy hearts, we bid farewell to a remarkable women, Denise L. Desmarais who passed away on October 19, 2023, following a courageous battle against Ovarian cancer. She was a true fighter, embodying the spirit of her beloved Detroit Red Wings, a team she cherished and supported with unwavering loyalty. Denise was a devoted mom and a loving grandma, and her face would light up with joy at the mere mention of her family and grandkids. Her love for her family was a beacon in her life, and she took immense pride in watching her loved ones grow and thrive. Beyond her devotion to her family and her beloved Red Wings, Denise was a proud patriot who had a deep love for her country. She held the values of freedom and unity close to her heart and showed unwavering support for her nation and constitution. Her zest for life extended beyond her family and sports, as Denise was an avid lover of sailing, darts and her annual girl’s canoe trips. She enjoyed the competitive sprit and camaraderie that came with those adventures. She also was a fantastic seamstress. She was also a proud member of Ronnie’s Angels, and Dedicated Friends Forever (affectionately known as DFF). Denise touched the lives of all who knew her with her strength, kindness and vibrant fighter spirit. Her memory will forever remain in our hearts, and we will cherish the legacy of love, resilience and patriotism she leaves behind, She is survived by her loving children, Richard (Theresa( Collins, Steven (Michelle) Collins, Sunshine Collins (Ryan Sharrock); grandchildren Natalie (Gregory) Iacobelli, Noelle (Jackson) Roberts, Luke Collins, Hunter Collins and Jack Collins; sister Rose (Brad) Fulker and countless friends who were fortunate enough to know her, In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to the National Ovarian Cancer Coalition (give.orvarian,org), a cause close to Denise’s heart. A celebration of Denise’s life will be held at Wasik Funeral Home, located at 35259 23 Mile Rd in New Baltimore, MI 48047. Immediate family will be welcomed on Sunday October 22 at 1 pm. All other guests and extended family are welcome from 2 pm – 8 pm. The final viewing will be at the funeral home on Monday October 23 from 2 -4 pm with service commencing at 4 pm.
