Daniel Charles Howard

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Daniel Charles Howard, on Sunday, August 30th, 2026, at the age of 77 surrounded by loving family at his side. Born on December 18, 1948, in Detroit, Michigan, Daniel lived a life rich in love, service, and adventure. Growing up in Michigan, Daniel was the son of the late Jack and Patricia Howard. His early passions led him to serve his country as a proud veteran of the United States Navy. Alongside his love for the open waters, Daniel was an avid boater. Many summers were spent on the Danny Bouy perusing Lake St. Clair. His commitment to the waters and community was evident through his lifelong membership at the Poor Man’s Yacht Club, where he had the honor of serving as Commodore in 2008. For much of his professional life, Dan was a car salesman, a career that perfectly suited his outgoing personality, competitive spirit, and ability to connect with people. He was a top salesman throughout his career, earning numerous accolades and recognition for his accomplishments. Dan took great pride in his work and had a gift for making customers feel like friends. After a long and fulfilling career, he and Sharon enjoyed traveling across the country in their RV, exploring new places and making lasting memories together. At the heart of his life, Daniel was a beloved husband to Sharon Howard. Together, they built a family filled with love and laughter. He leaves behind his cherished daughters, Samantha (Jay) Goodnight and Amy Churchill, and was a loving grandfather to Johnathan Goodnight, Ethan Churchill, and Michael Churchill. He was a devoted brother to Jackie (Tom) Powell, Susan (Tim) Kelly, and Barbara Howard-Confer and a dear uncle to his nieces and nephews. Friends and family are invited to celebrate Daniel's life at a Memorial Visitation on Wednesday, September 2nd, 2026, from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Wasik Funeral Home – Gendernalik Chapel, located at 35259 23 Mile Road, New Baltimore. A Memorial Service will follow on Thursday, September 3rd, 2026, at 10:00 a.m., in the funeral home In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that memorial contributions be made to the Disabled American Veterans.
