Craig S. Kerby

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Craig S. Kerby, a beloved resident of Ira Township, Michigan. Born in Detroit on July 17, 1979, Craig was a cherished member of our community who left an indelible mark on everyone he met. Craig passed away on June 18, 2025, at the age of 45, at Corewell Hospital in Royal Oak, Michigan. Craig was the loving son of Kimberly (William) Heller and the late Robert G. Kerby, who preceded him in death. He was a devoted father to his children: Craig Jr., Kimberly, and Robert Kerby, who were the pride and joy of his life. He shared his life with his loving girlfriend, Danette Barth, and was a dear brother to Shaun (Beverlee) Kerby, Justin Pelcher, Kerri Scott and Robert (Amanda) Heller. Craig was also a proud uncle to Desmond, Noah, Rilee, Caden, and Brady, as well as a treasured grandson of Betsy (Joseph) Letfy and the late Margaret (Orville) Slaughter. Craig was the spirited owner of a successful landscaping company, where he dedicated his time to cutting trees and firewood, always working with passion and diligence. His infectious sense of humor and warm presence made him the life of every party. An enthusiastic sports fan, Craig enjoyed playing basketball and watching his favorite teams, always bringing a sense of camaraderie and joy to those around him. Craig's memory will forever be cherished by many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. He touched countless lives with his kindness, laughter, and unwavering good spirit. His absence leaves a profound void in the hearts of all who knew him. Family, friends, and well-wishers are invited to pay their respects during visitation on Monday, June 23, 2025, from 3:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Wasik Funeral Home, 35259 23 Mile Rd., New Baltimore. A funeral service will follow at 6:00 p.m. To honor Craig's legacy and his love for his children, the family kindly requests that memorial donations be directed to his children: Craig Jr., Kimberly, and Robert Kerby. Craig S. Kerby will be deeply missed but never forgotten. His memory will live on in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing him.
