Carol Ann McCallum

Carol Ann McCallum, a cherished resident of New Baltimore, Michigan, passed away peacefully on February 1, 2025, at the age of 76, at McLaren Hospital in Mt. Clemens. Born on March 30, 1948, in Detroit, Michigan, she was the beloved daughter of the late James R. and Virginia (Brown) Gustin. Carol was a devoted wife, having shared 56 loving years of marriage with her husband, Melvin McCallum. She was a nurturing and dedicated mother to her children, Brian (Tracy) McCallum and Lisa (Rob) LaFave, and a proud grandmother to Colby, Morgan, Devin, Gregory, Lillianna, Charlotte, and Dominic. Her family was the center of her world, and she cherished every moment spent with them. Carol is also survived by her loving siblings, Nancy (Larry) Sink, Bob Gustin, Janet (Mike) Whitmer, David (Marie) Gustin, and Mary Kay Puvalowski. She was predeceased by her parents and her brother, John Gustin. Carol leaves behind a legacy of love and kindness that touched the lives of many nieces, nephews, and friends. She was a beacon for her family and did everything she could for them. She did her best to pick up the torch that her mom held. She was so much in love with her husband Mel. He hung the moon to her and he has been by her side for 61 years. She would put everybody before herself. She loved to cook and create pictures with counted cross stitch and plastic canvas and play with her grandkids. She sang in the choir at Immaculate Conception for many years. She was also a member of the New Baltimore Interfaith Choir. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 12, 2025, from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. with a 4:00 p.m. Scripture Service at Wasik Funeral Home, located at 35259 23 Mile Rd., New Baltimore. A funeral mass will be held on Thursday, February 13, 2025, with instate beginning at 10:30 a.m., followed by the mass at 11:00 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 9764 Dixie Hwy, Ira Twp. Carol will be laid to rest immediately following the service at Sacred Heart Cemetery, Ira Twp. Carol Ann McCallum will be remembered for her warmth, generosity, and unwavering love for her family and friends. She will be deeply missed by all who were fortunate enough to know her. In lieu of floral arrangements, memorial donations may be made directed to the family.
