Boridano Panone

Boridano Panone, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed peacefully in his home at the age of 96. Born on November 13, 1929, in Barisciano,Italy. Boridano was the son of Ettore and Assiamira Panone. Two brothers, Ettore and Vincenzo Panone, married two sisters, Assiamira and Ersilia Gallucci. His cousins, Rudio and Bordina, were born to Vincenzo and Ersilia. Close in age and united by strong family ties, the children grew up less like cousins and more like brothers and sisters. As a young boy, Boridano immigrated to the United States with his family. He endured the challenges of leaving his homeland, adapting to a new culture, and losing his mother at an early age. These hardships forged the qualities that defined him throughout his life: resilience, humility, and an unwavering determination to provide for those he loved. Boridano was employed 45 years at Ford Motor Company as a highly skilled UAW machine repairman. Over the years, he earned so many perfect attendance awards and worked so much overtime that family members thought Ford might never let him retire. His discipline, reliability, and willingness to sacrifice for those he loved were hallmarks of his character. Boridano was predeceased by his beloved wife, Franca Iole Panone, after sharing 72 years of marriage. He is missed by his children, John (Rosemary) Panone, Gina Panone, Diane Panone-Smith (David), Linda Panone, Richard (Maureen) Panone, and Bernard (Brenda) Panone; his cherished grandchildren, Daniel (Trisha) Panone, Nicholas (Diana) Panone, Brian (Rebecca) Panone, Christopher Panone, Sarah (William) Madsen, Jessica Panone, and Alex Panone; and his treasured great-grandchildren, Samuel and Annie Panone. He is also survived by his loving sister, Iole Letissier, along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. The family recognizes Nicole Lockhart for her compassionate caregiving. Friends are welcome to join with the family for visitation at Wasik Funeral Home, 49150 Schoenherr Rd., Shelby Township, on Monday, June 22, 2026, from 9:30 a.m. until 11:00 a.m., followed by a funeral service at 11:00 am. Entombment will be held at Resurrection Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations in honor of Boridano be made to the American Heart Association (www.heart.org) or to the Alzheimer's Association (www.alz.org).
